Degree practices, every Wednesday at 6:30PM

Beginning in April, Plano Lodge is conducting degree practices every Wednesday at 6:30PM.  This is the best way to learn the degree work or to refresh and improve upon what you have already learned.  Each week, we will be focusing on a specific degree or on practicing all three lectures.

These practice nights are also open to new Masons learning the catechisms for any of the degrees.  We will have instructors reserved each week to teach the catechisms in the dining area or down in the library.

This is also a good way to prepare for the certificate exam in the Fall.

Important: We still need additional volunteers who can be consistently available one designated Wednesday per month to teach the degree work or the catechisms.  If you are interested in helping us out, please let me know at kmain@ti.com.

Here is the practice schedule for April:

  • 4/6 – Lectures
  • 4/13 – FC Degree
  • 4/20 – EA Degree
  • 4/27 – MM Degree

The practice schedule is maintained on the Lodge calendar each month.  You can always find that here:

Brethren,

Plano Lodge is having a night honoring Gene Reynolds this Thursday, March 24th, with dinner at 6:00 and program at 7:00.  As Gene has been a very involved mason in the area for a long time, we would love for any and all friends to please come and celebrate our good friend and wish him well on his new adventure in Seguin, TX.  This is an open meeting.

We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate our friend and brother.  After we are done, we will retire to a nearby establishment for other refreshments.

Fraternally,

Adam DeMasellis
Worshipful Master, Plano Lodge #768

(past) New Date – Cornerstone Ceremony, now May 21st

Brethren,

Since we are at the mercy of many other people, the cornerstone has been
re-scheduled for May 21st at 2:00 p.m.  I received a call from Grand Lodge on
Friday saying that since the event at the Masonic oak is on Sunday the 15th, the
Grand Lodge Officers were now going down on 14th and would be unavailable.

Thus after checking with the school district and the back with Grand Lodge, the
ceremony will be on the 21st at 2:00 p.m.

On March 31st, after dinner, we will be having a large planning meeting where we
will plan the details of the cornerstone, our picnic on May 7th, and the Blood
Drive.

Please let me know if you would like an role in any of the upcoming events.

Adam DeMasellis

(past) Scotch Tasting – Thurs. Jan 27

Events  Comments Off on (past) Scotch Tasting – Thurs. Jan 27
Jan 202011

Brethren,
The Museum & Library will be hosting a Scotch Tasting Evening at the downtown
Plano location – 1414 J Avenue on Thursday, January 27 at 6:30 PM.  Fine Scotch
is one of the great pleasures in life and this is a great opportunity to learn
everything a layman needs to know about this fine spirit.

Bro. Sam Tiner will give a presentation about the history of Scotch, how it is
processed, distilled, bottled, etc.  Come learn about the difference between
Single Malt, Single Grain, Blended Malt, Blended Grain, and Blended Scotch
Whiskeys.  Following the presentation we will have several different types of
Scotch available for sampling to understand and appreciate these differences.

Although we will not charge for this event, donations will be accepted.  Most
tastings will cost between $35-$75.

We look forward to seeing you.  www.northtexashistory.org

Sincerely,
JJ Miller
